Making a Complaint
The PLA is responsible for receiving complaints concerning licensed brothels. You may wish to make a complaint about:
- safety problems in a licensed brothel
- people younger than 18 years working in a licensed brothel
- licensed brothel advertising, or anything else to do with a licensed brothel.
If you make a complaint to the PLA, every effort will be made to resolve it. The PLA is determined to take action on complaints wherever possible, and to make use of the information that can be gained through the receipt of complaints.
The PLA does not have any capacity to investigate complaints about prostitution generally or illegal advertising not related to licensed brothels in Queensland. The only option for a complainant in this instant is to make a complaint directly to the Queensland Police Service (QPS). You may either:
- Contact Crime Stoppers https://www.crimestoppersqld.com.au
- call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, which operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
- attend the nearest Police Station during opening hours to make a complaint
A complaint concerning a licensed brothel in Queensland can be made to the PLA directly via:
E-mail: Prostitution Licensing Authority
Mail: PO Box 3196 Brisbane QLD 4001
Ph: (07) 3858 9500
Fax: (07) 3876 3641

Once again, every effort will be made to resolve your concerns if you lodge a complaint about the PLA or its staff.
