Prostitution Licensing Authority
Welcome to the Prostitution Licensing Authority
The Prostitution Licensing Authority (PLA) was established to regulate prostitution in Queensland by implementing the Prostitution Act 1999. Our mission is to ensure that brothels are licensed and regulated in the community interest.
The PLA is committed to:
- the principles of respect, integrity and impartiality
- promoting and improving safety and health in the sex industry and in the wider community
- preventing corruption and organised crime in licensed brothels
- ensuring that all its activities are based on the best information and research available to it.
We hope you find our website useful and informative. The PLA welcomes your suggestions and encourage you to contact us with any comments you may have.
